What we process

The file is validated in your browser. PDF and DOCX text is extracted locally. PNG and JPG screenshots use the disclosed AI image-import option after the browser removes source metadata and bounds their dimensions. Local rules then look for personal details and combinations of those details. We do not identify faces or search the internet for you.

Where your CV goes

Your original file stays on your device. Turn off AI before choosing a file for an entirely local PDF or DOCX scan. Image uploads require AI. With AI enabled, extracted text and layout coordinates—or a normalized image copy—go through our server to the configured provider for transcription and organization. Sanitized text and generated page images may later be sent for automatic repairs. API keys stay on the server.

Anonymous analyses use Cloudflare Turnstile for bot verification. The challenge contacts Cloudflare but does not receive your CV content.

Storage and retention

Document data remains in this page’s memory during the session. We do not put CV content in localStorage, cookies or a database. Refreshing or leaving releases the session data. Browser extensions and other software may observe page content. The selected language is the only preference stored in localStorage. When AI is enabled, the configured providers also process the disclosed data under their policies. ILoveCV does not log document content, prompts or AI responses.

Usage controls store a random anonymous identifier, processing timestamps and status. We also temporarily store an HMAC of the public IP for abuse detection, never the raw IP. These records contain no CV text, findings, extracted names, addresses or phone numbers.

Anonymous quota and payments

No account is required. A random HttpOnly cookie applies the rolling free quota. Once it is consumed, you may pay Mercado Pago for one additional processing. Paid access is activated only after the server verifies the canonical payment with Mercado Pago, through a signed webhook or secure return confirmation. An unused purchase remains linked to this browser cookie; contact us with the payment ID if the cookie is cleared.

Telemetry and hosting

ILoveCV collects no application telemetry. The hosting provider may process your IP and ordinary web-request logs to serve the site. AI request bodies must not be recorded by deployment logging tools.

Providers and transfers

Netlify hosts the application and receives the code, type and email for legal requests so they can be notified; Neon stores operational, usage, legal-request and payment records; Cloudflare provides Turnstile; Mercado Pago processes payments; and OpenRouter together with the configured model providers processes the disclosed content when you choose AI. Some providers operate outside Argentina. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.

Creating a safer copy

Rebuild as Safe CV creates a new selectable-text PDF from locally retained content. Preserve Original Layout is an experimental image-only export available only for PDF sources. Both modes create a separate file without original metadata. You review the preview before downloading and the original is never edited.

What this version cannot check

Image transcription can omit or misread small, rotated or low-contrast text. Scanned PDFs are not yet routed through image import. Embedded images are not classified as photos, signatures or QR codes. Hidden text, attachments, link destinations and some DOCX headers, footers or comments may not be analyzed. The score is a rule-based estimate, not a security guarantee.

You decide what belongs in your CV

Contact information and professional profiles are often appropriate. Hiring requirements differ by country and employer. You can ignore incorrect findings, accept a risk or review every change before exporting.

ILoveCV provides privacy recommendations based on automated analysis. A flagged item does not necessarily mean your CV is unsafe, and an unflagged CV is not guaranteed to be risk-free.
